The Frustration of a Locked-Out Soul
Sweat beads bead on my brow as I stare at the rigid prison that is my car. The keys, those tiny symbols of freedom, are lost, flung into the abyss somewhere between my house and this space. A groan escapes from my throat, a lament to the universe for its cruel joke.
My phone is useless. No signal, no charger, just a dead weight in my pocket. In this desolate scene cars zoom past, oblivious to my plight. They're filled with people who have their keys, their freedom, their days.
What will I do? Who will save me from this metallic tomb? A wave of panic washes over me. I am trapped, a prisoner in my own machine, with nothing but the mocking rays and the sound of my beating heart for company.
